Cara is a nationally certified physician assistant specializing in wound care, with a practice built around the realities of the skilled nursing setting. She approaches every case through a comprehensive, multifactorial lens — diabetic, pressure, traumatic, surgical, burns, and vascular wounds — shaped by an understanding of state regulation and the day-to-day constraints nursing homes operate under, and she brings that same depth to training facility staff and providers.

Beyond direct patient care, Cara oversees internal and external audits, skin substitute programs, and institutional education, fielding clinical questions and troubleshooting directly with nursing facilities. She also travels to partner facilities to help develop wound care procedures and protocols on-site, giving staff a hands-on, one-on-one experience in building out their processes.

Cara earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Studies and Public Relations from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Pittsburgh. She is certified in Hyperbaric Medicine and is a Certified Wound Specialist through the American Board of Wound Management, and is an active member of the American Association of Physician Assistants and a past member of the Board of Directors for the West Virginia Association of Physician Assistants.
